Adrenaline levels are set to soar since Acclaim Entertainment released the arcade racing video game Burnout 2: Point of Impact. The sequel delivers an incredibly fast and high action driving experience, with vastly improved gameplay, new game options and bigger, better and more insane crash carnage.

Incorporating the thrills and spills of the original title with better and smoother graphics and a host of new features Burnout 2: Point of Impact really pushes the boundaries of driving games to the limit and rewards dangerous driving with an improved Burnout meter: Take to the air, slide through corners or swerve to avoid a near head-on collision to fill the meter before unleashing an adrenalin fuelled power surge. A new points system allows you to unlock challenges and modes throughout the game. One of the new modes is 'pursuit', which allows you to drive a police car in hot pursuit to try and ram the opponent off the road. With bigger tracks, fully decaled motors and all-new thrilling crashes it's only the most assertive and aggressive drivers who'll get past the post in pole position.

Taking inspiration from several American films including "The Fast And The Furious," "Bad Boys" and "Speed." The game offers a broad array of features such as six fantastic new locations (including Los Angeles, The Rocky Mountains, New Mexico and a busy international airport) plus t
hirty-two new stages to drive. Then there are fourteen all-new vehicles to race and seven secret vehicles to unlock including police cars, 1950's hotrods and stock cars.

Realistic weather effects, such as snow, rain and fog, will all affect the handling of these super fast racers but players can polish up their skills and "Learn to Burn" from the Burnout Driving School and with the all-new Pursuit races, which allow players to ram opponents off the road you’ll need all the practice you can handle. Vehicles can get air and earn boosts by jumping and the incredible car crash and the vehicle deformation system tears up the traffic and scatters the road with debris.

There’s also a new Custom Series Mode, awesome in-game soundtrack and vibration enabled controller compatibility, letting players feel every bump, turn and crunch of the car for a highly realistic crash & burn experience.

Price: £34.99 for PS2.
