auto modellista is the first true cel-shaded style racing
game for the PlayStation 2 and provides an almost anime experience for players to enjoy.
Designed to capture the essence of the racing experience, this new-style racer allows players to customise
real-world cars and acquire essential components to improve handling, speed, ride and
appearance. Licenses from well-known carmakers
including Mazda, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru offer a realistic feel to an
otherwise cartoony overview, but the gameplay itself is every bit as real as its
contemporaries. A new 3-D cel-shaded art style dubbed Artistoon (using Capcoms own
proprietary technology) gives a fresh look to the racing game genre and these
new-style graphics provide a new visual outlook on racing. The sense of speed
and the impact of tyres grabbing the pavement are also stunningly reproduced. Players are
able to choose from an enormous selection of world-renowned vehicles and get to speed
through diverse environments including racing circuits, cityscapes and mountain passes. Where the game truly
shines, however, is in the customisation department. Vivid colour schemes and a wide array
of options allow players to create incredibly diverse car designs. They can also change
tyres, brakes, suspension, turbine kit, silencer, computer and transmission, plus much
more, and by adding various accessories such as mirrors, wheels and racing decals players
can modify the appearance of the cars and make them truly unique.. Three different game modes are available: Single Player Mode
Customise your own car and participate in various races, Arcade Mode Split
screen, two-player head-to-head racing, and VJ Mode Record, edit and apply various
effects to your previous races and capture all the highlights of performance racing. auto modellista captures the Sheer intensity of adrenaline
packed racing and is simply a must for the insatiable car enthusiast who loves to twiddle
with custom options. It also holds appeal for those who just want something different to
the photo-realistic racing clones that seem to abound these days. Price: £34.99 for PS2. Thanks to Capcom and Indigo Pearl for the release. |
