It comes on a DVD so it’s playable in
a variety of ways. The way it’s laid out is also novel.
Contestants select a team or their choice to represent them
and the whole thing takes the form of a footy match where
position is attained and goals are scored based on the knowledge
of the players.
Taking turns, contestants select which player
on the pitch they want to pass to or if they can take a shot
at goal. The pitch is divided into zones and the questions
are matched accordingly to a single, double or triple zone
move. Get the question right and the ball moves the appropriate
number of zones to the selected player. Get it wrong and the
opposition gets control. So… if you think you know the
FIFA World Cup here’s where you can prove it. And remember,
the questions to all but the really knowledgeable, are not
easy.
For example… Can you remember who the
oldest player in the 1990 World Cup was, or who scored the
first goal in the 1998 World Cup? Leave your friends speechless
and prove that you’ve really got the knowledge of a
champion as you get to grips with questions that cover every
aspect of FIFA World Cup history.
Guided by commentary from Match of the Day’s
Jonathan Pearce and featuring over 1000 questions, FIFA archive
video clips and pictures, there’s enough here to keep
you and your mates occupied during the build up to the World
Cup and beyond.
Select one of the 10 teams playing this year
and guide them to victory through the FIFA World Cup tournament.
Answer questions correctly questions to pass, tackle and defend
on the game’s 3D virtual pitch, using red cards, yellow
cards and substitutions: get your strategy right, bang in
the goals Ronaldo-style and the World Cup is yours for keeps!
So whether you think you’re the next
Motson or Hansen with the ‘2006 FIFA World Cup
TM’ DVD game you can prove
that you are the ultimate World Cup fan.
