Paris, 10 January, 2007: Vivendi Games
Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced the release of a
new mobile game title, Eragon, which is already available on most mobile
network operator portals across Europe.
The mobile game launched simultaneously across Europe
and the U.S. with the box office release of Eragon, by Twentieth Century
Fox Film. Based on 16-year-old Christopher Paolini’s fantasy novel,
Eragon was one of the best-selling books of 2006, with 2.5 million copies
sold to date worldwide. In addition to the mobile game, published by Vivendi
Games Mobile, the Sierra publishing unit of Vivendi Games launched Eragon
as a cross-platform game, available for consoles (PS2, XBOX-360, PSP (PlayStation
Portable System), Nintendo DS, Nintendo Game Boy Advance) and PC.
The Twentieth Century Fox motion picture ERAGON has taken
in over $200 million at the global box office since its worldwide debut
on December 15, 2006.
The mobile version of Eragon: The Dragon Rider was developed
in the true spirit of the novel and movie, and re-enacts the excitement
of the epic dragon-riding adventure. A side-scrolling action game featuring
both land and air combat, Eragon enables the player to become the story’s
hero, riding his dragon Saphira to conquer all states using multi-combos
and special dragon moves. The gameplay is both easy and intuitive, thanks
to simple controls, and very enjoyable to play.
